2003 Kangarilla Road Shiraz Viognier

This wine combines Shiraz from low yielding vines situated at Sellicks Hill in the South Western corner of McLaren Vale with 8% Viognier also estate grown at Kangarilla Road.

After co-fermentation in traditional open fermenters where we used submerged cap management, the wine was then matured for 14 months in new French oak barriques.

The wine displays all the McLaren Vale hallmarks of spice and dark fruits together with added layers of complexity that the Viognier brings to colour, aroma and flavour.

At Kangarilla Road our Shiraz Viognier is of a style that displays spicy ripe fruit typical of McLaren Vale yet has a sophistication and complexity which does not overpower the palate and will reward further cellaring.
